Buyer is responsible for the development and implementation of
sourcing and procurement strategies, assessing supplier risk, and
balancing inventory levels adequately against demand to meet
production schedules.
Essential FunctionsDevelop supply chain strategies - create and
implement strategies for sourcing materials and services
domestically and internationally that align with business
objectives. Identify new supplier opportunities for assigned
projects and negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, etc., to
bring the best overall value to the company.Assess and mitigate
risk within the supply chain to ensure continuity and
stability.Identify and develop process improvements within the
supply chain by continuously improving techniques, methods, and
approaches to procurement strategies.Manage inventory levels for
phase-in/phase-out opportunities for assigned product
categories.Participate in new product development process for the
introduction and release of new products.Actively manage product
changes into production plans. Coordinate with inventory buyers and
supply chain leaders to identify and reconcile constraints, supply
shortages, and their impact on customer fulfillment satisfaction
(e.g., parts shortages, backorders).Work closely with Quality
Assurance to ensure suppliers meet and exceed quality standards and
lead supplier performance appraisals. Collaborate with internal
stakeholders to develop and maintain operational SOPs. Other duties
assigned by management.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe position
will not have direct reports.Competencies/QualificationsStrong
communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to interact
with all levels of the organization.Excellent analytical &
quantitative skills.Ability to work independently with minimal
direction and in a collaborative team setting.Exceptional
organizational skills to handle multiple competing
priorities.Detail-oriented and accurate. Strong sense of urgency
and ability to influence different business partners across

education and experience Bachelor's degree in a Business, supply
chain management, engineering, or related field and/or 5 years of
experience in procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain
Management. Must be at least 18 years of age.Experience with
ERP/MRP systems.Expertise in MS Excel required. Experience managing
critical supplier relationships in a fast-paced manufacturing
environment.Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMCompetitive
