Sr Director, Software Engineering - IAMWe are seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering who is passionate about growing and sustaining an innovative technology organization while fostering a culture of engineering and operational excellence. At Capital One, you'll be part of a big group of builders, breakers, doers, and disruptors who love to solve real problems and meet real customer needs.The Senior Director of Software Engineering will be on the leadership team of Identity and Access Management Core Platform. In this role, you will focus on the technical strategy, multi-year roadmap, and collaboration across all lines of business. Your expertise in software engineering and knowledge of public cloud and IAM will position you to influence peer technical partners and business stakeholders.What You'll Do:

• Build and lead engineering teams to reimagine workload identity and privileged credential management by implementing a modern Zero Trust Workload Identity Platform.
• Work with Product partners and deliver robust solutions that drive automated capabilities supporting Cyber and IAM.
• Partner with leaders across the enterprise to drive adoption of our automated capabilities.
• Lead complex vendor relationships and ensure well-managed integration of vendor platforms into our broader Capital One ecosystem.
• Develop and leverage trusted relationships across Architecture, Design, and other Technology leaders to ensure strategic alignment across key Cyber initiatives.
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, and Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services.
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities.
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
• Coach and mentor engineers through their career development and performance.Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 9 years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 7 years of people leadership experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience with coding in one or more of the following languages: Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, Ruby.
  • At least 4 years of public cloud experience (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • At least 3 years of experience in leading enterprise platforms.Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree.
    • 4+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation, and delivery.
    • 3+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices.
    • 2+ years of experience in identity and access management.Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
