EWTN - Full-time, onsite in Washington, D.C. Not remote-eligible.PRODUCER (EWTN News Nightly)March 13, 2024HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:As the Producer, you will work with the News Nightly editorial team to produce content and fulfill other responsibilities with a strict deadline to produce a quality daily newscast.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Produce discussion segments on national/international news from a Catholic perspective, including writing/editing news scripts under tight deadlines.
• Communicate with the Sr. Producer and Host about guests, including extensive research and potential discussion questions.
• Pitch original content stories that would make good discussion or news segments based on current affairs.
• Choose videos, sound bites, and still photos to be included in the broadcast.
• Collaborate with pre- and post-production team members in order to produce editorially sound and visually appealing broadcasts that meet EWTN and Industry standards.ABOUT YOU:
• You have 3-5 years prior experience working in TV broadcast production/programming, preferably in a local or national newsroom environment.
• You possess excellent broadcast writing & communication skills, and are able to consistently demonstrate solid news judgment and a meticulous level of attention to detail.
• You have a proven understanding of the Catholic faith and how it relates to the programming goals of the Network.
• You exhibit a strong understanding of local, national, and international news, as well as key life issues relevant to EWTN's Global Catholic audience.
• You are able to communicate clearly with control room staff and remote reporters/guests; successfully troubleshoot and resolve any issues as they arise.
• You are fluent on a wide variety of social media platforms.
• You are able to collaborate easily within a team, and also work well independently and proactively.
• You are able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends/nights when required.
• You hold a bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.PREFERRED:
• Bilingual; proficient in reading/writing/speaking in any language(s) in addition to English; strongly prefer Spanish and/or Italian.
