• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that - help meet regulatory needs for the company
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, OpenSearch, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services -About the Team:Our mission is to transform risk management with technology. We do that by creating highly resilient, real-time, intelligent products, powered by modern tech stack and cloud-native capabilities to serve all of risk management functions across the company. -The team is actively investing in building an Enterprise Risk Management platform that enables thousands of users to manage Capital One policies, procedures, risks, controls and governance.The team needs a technically proficient people leader with strong track record in advancing engineering maturity, operational excellence and leading a well managed team of full stack, backend, data and UI engineers.Team Size: 2 teams this manager will be responsible for 10 people overall.Basic Qualifications: -
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • At least 4 years of people management experiencePreferred Qualifications: -
    • Master's Degree
    • 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
    • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
    • 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
    • 7+ years of people management experience
    • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
    • 4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications -
    • 4+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra) -

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean, VA: $225,400 - $257,200 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering -Richmond, VA: $204,900 - $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering - - - - - - - - -Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
