looking for a passionate, driven Database Developer for Operational
Data to help deliver our vision through work on our Analytics,
Data, Visualization, and Information Services 2.0 (ADVISE) contract
with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
Data Services team.The Data Services team's main purpose is to
improve the usage of data and information at USAID, so that the
Agency continues to ensure its development outcomes are supported
by evidence.Responsibilities
- Work with a team to maintain and update the USAID Enterprise
Reporting Portal, a central point to access dashboards and reports
from USAID's corporate systems.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for USAID's three main
corporate Oracle database systems: Phoenix, GLAAS, and ASIST.
- Develop, maintain, and document standard reports and
dashboards.
- Generate recurring reports and respond to ad-hoc requests.
- Undertake data validation requests.
- Work with our clients, supporting multiple modernization
efforts to transform the way our clients collect, analyze and use
data to make informed decisions through fact-based evidence.
- Lead and/or support the development and maintenance of
analytical products that report on operational and/or programmatic
data in visually intuitive formats, primarily using Tableau or
other reporting tools.
- Run queries on databases, enterprise systems, and other primary
data sources.
- Manage and/or support special projects including generation of
reports and development of data visualizations in collaboration
with user research and design subject-matter experts.
- Collaborate with the team of Economists, Data Analysts, Data
Visualization Specialists, and Tableau Developers to develop data
products for USAID.
- Communicate effectively and helpfully with clients to
understand their needs, find solutions, report on progress, and
seek feedback.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, accounting,
business or public administration, grants management, or other
related subject. Master's degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of PL/SQL or similar programming
language.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of Tableau or Power BI preferred.
- Knowledge of Oracle databases.
- Experience working in a USG environment and familiarity with
USAID preferred.
- Fiscal experience including accounting, budget development and
monitoring, and fund accounting.
- Familiarity with federal grants and contracts solicitation and
implementation process.The candidate must be a U.S. citizen to
qualify for the required U.S. government security clearance for
