Physical Therapist I job is primarily responsible for the delivery
of physical therapy care to the patient population to which she/he
is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical
record.The Physical Therapist acts as a consultant to various
patient clinics, provides instruction to PT support staff,
students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient
and/or family members. Therapists may also rotate through our
various clinical service areas.Job DescriptionLicensure,
Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Licensed (or
licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical
TherapistLicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for
continued employment:Current license by the Commonwealth of
Virginia as a Physical TherapistCurrent CPR Certification if
required by clinic or practice areaExperience REQUIRED:New graduate
to up to 2 years of work experience as a Physical Therapist*
*Employee is expected to progress to a Physical TherapistClinician
II level within two years of employment at VCUHSExperience
PREFERRED:Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar
facilityEducation/training REQUIRED:Graduate of an accredited
School of Physical TherapyEducation/training PREFERRED:Masters or
Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical
TherapyIndependent action(s) required:Patient evaluation and
implementation of plan of care, discharge planning. Ordering
equipment.Representing department at rounds and discharge
conferences. Scheduling and charging patients.Supervisory
responsibilities (if applicable):Employee may have supervisory
responsibilities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Rehab
Technicians, students, and volunteers.Employee is a member of a
self-directed team and applies his knowledge and experience in
daily clinic problem solving.The team will bring unresolved issues
to departmental manager for assistance and guidance in their
resolution.Additional position requirements:Employee is expected to
share in weekend and holiday schedule expectations of the
department or have a fluctuation of daily work hours from 8 AM to 7
