-The Director of Engineering and Plant Operations is responsible
for managing and directing the hospital's Engineering, Maintenance,
and Grounds departments. This role ensures the safe and efficient
operation of all hospital buildings, compliance with regulatory
standards, and proactive maintenance of all facilities and
equipment. The director will serve as the hospital's Safety
Officer, utilizing energy management tools, overseeing staff and
contractors, and developing budgets to support operational
excellence. -Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee Engineering, Maintenance, and Grounds
operations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including
Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and EPA.
- Implement and maintain energy management systems for efficient
utility operations.
- Develop and manage departmental operating and capital
budgets.
- Supervise contractors and staff to ensure timely maintenance
and repairs.
- Plan and manage hospital projects, ensuring they meet safety
and quality standards.
- Ensure the hospital's buildings, systems, and grounds are safe,
reliable, and compliant.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of a high school diploma with technical
certifications; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years of hospital engineering management
experience.
- Certification: Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (or
ability to obtain within one year).Skills:
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, OSHA standards, and other
regulatory guidelines.
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building
trades.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Computerized
Maintenance Management Systems, and Building Management
Systems.
- Proven project management expertise.
