Job Description:
Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Chef Manager located at a
conference center located in Henrico, VA. This position is
responsible for the food production program as well as special
events, which operate seven days a week, and special events. Our
ideal candidate has strong culinary and supervisory skills, a

demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity. What you will do:
Assist the Director of Dining Services with all aspects of
production and work collaboratively alongside production staff to
incorporate key ingredients/products into recipe and menu offerings
daily.Participate in preparation, cooking, and portioning of large
quantities of meals and other items; determine how food should be
presented and create decorative food displays.Ensure quality and
timeliness of food production, using batch cooking methods to
maintain the quality and freshness of the product.Assist the
Director of Dining Services with ordering food/supplies and
receiving and checking products for freshness and quality.Assist
with monitoring and recording kitchen inventory and production
data; drive sustainability programs to improve waste
reduction.Assist the Director of Dining Services with day-to-day
support, training, and staff guidance to ensure that food quality
standards, food safety, and sanitation guidelines are met.Ensure
correct use of equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and
schedule equipment maintenanceInspect supplies, equipment, or work
areas to ensure conformance to established standards Keep food
production areas, kitchen equipment, and storage areas clean,
organized, and sanitized; participate in and assist with
coordinating the cleaning of cooking areas and equipment.Assist
with and attend daily pre-production and service meetings; offer
input regarding leftover utilization, efficiency, product quality,
etc.Fosters an inclusive environment for all staff and guests,
while maintaining effective client and customer-centric
relationshipsPerform all duties by food safety and sanitation best
practicesRegular & Predictable AttendanceOther duties, as
assignedWhat you need: A culinary degree and 3+ years of Kitchen
Management experience requiredANSI Food Protection Manager and
Allergen CertifiedExceptional cooking skills; experience with
high-volume food service operationsArithmetic, ability to measure
products and convert units of measureProficient in the use of
commercial kitchen equipment; including routine maintenance and
cleaningParticipative management style and excellent leadership
skillsAttention to detail, management, and organizational skills;
