PURPOSE -

The Senior Manager, Sales & Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing Pet Food Sales & Marketing objectives, strategies and tactics, managing the marketing communication as well as leading projects to drive profitable business growth. The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and managing new business development for a new Pet Food category and a new business pipeline development process from market opportunity and idea generation to product concept and business validation and sales.





PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES -



Manage the development and implementation of key new business development and new category innovation for StarKist; identify opportunities to drive new business, new markets and new category innovation within the Pet Food arena.

Develop Sales & Marketing objectives, strategies and tactics to drive profitable growth.
Gather and analyze market research data to gain market insight and evaluate business strategies.
Manage sales execution of account plans to achieve volume objectives and key sales priorities (distribution, pricing, shelving and merchandising).
Provide strategic input, reflecting marketplace and customer requirements into the StarKist AOP/sales plans and marketing plans process. The input should focus on trade marketing strategy/tactics and result in a final plan that can be executed with customers to achieve company objectives.
Establish local market priorities, objectives and strategies to guide development of market/account plans that deliver SK objectives within defined Corporate/Brand strategies. Responsible for the review and approval of all customer plans.
Provides proactive consultation with brand management via developing research plans and analysis on assigned businesses as well as provides all the answers to management's questions regarding the consumer, market, etc.
Work with cross-functional teams (including parent company and StarKist plants) on new products, projects and marketing initiatives to support the business growth. Partner with Procurement, Marketing, Sales and R&D.
Develop and implement the Communication Strategies of the brand for the Pet Food segments.
This position will evaluate and manage pricing strategies and support business forecast.
Evaluate, get approval and communicate Pricing, Promotions and Price Targets to support the business growth while reaching business profitability objectives.
Manage market validation for new businesses and new product launches, ensure cross functional alignment to innovation strategy/launch plans.
Support the forecasting process for volume mix.

Partner with market research on competitive intelligence responsibilities for the Business Unit, creating and discussing the design with customers, envisioning possible research issues and solving them, gathering the information needed to answer business's questions.
Provides proactive consultation with brand management via developing research plans and analysis on assigned businesses as well as provides all the answers to management's questions regarding the consumer, market, etc.
Develop & Present Corporate and Sales Meetings Presentations.
Attend Pet Food Shows to understand trends and identify new business opportunities.





KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES -



7-10 years of overall professional experience in Sales and Marketing
Bachelor's degree in Business or other relevant degree
Pet Food Experience Required
Broad knowledge and experience in CPG Sales and Marketing
30 - 35% travel required - domestic and international - passport required
Knowledge of corporate policies and compliance
Demonstrated prior success in achieving results using team driven philosophies
Demonstrated proficiency in supporting corporate interest and ability to communicate and exercise very positive people skills
