Job Description:
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking
an experienced Sr. Accountant in the Fiscal and Support Services
Division to provide financial management support to VEDP and the
Virginia Tourism Corporation.Responsibilities:Perform general
accounting functions using Acumatica system, including expenditure
processing, journal entries, and financial reportingProcess
semi-monthly payroll and fringe benefits accounting using ADP
payroll systemComplete monthly general ledger and bank account
reconciliationsAssist with annual financial audit and fiscal
year-end reporting, including preparation of financial templates
and supporting schedulesCoordinate and complete federal grant
reportingSkills:Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles for governmental organizations and related financial
reporting practicesExperience with payroll procedures, employee
benefit plans, and federal and state payroll reporting
requirementsAbility to manage computerized payroll processing and
reporting systemSkilled in use of computerized accounting and
financial reporting systemKnowledge of internal control structures
and complianceExperience with reconciliation techniques and
proceduresDemonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft
SuiteExcellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and
interpersonal skillsExperience:5+ years accounting or
finance-related experienceCPA certification preferredBeing
authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
